Snow on the canal

While at my parents for Christmas the weather turned festive and snowed. It doesn’t usually do that in December, and despite having quite a lot of photos of the area I thought it’d be good to go out with my camera. It was dark, but the light reflecting off the snow gave everything a surreal glow. It had stopped snowing about an hour earlier, so everything was still fresh and nobody else was about.

This picture was a long exposure (30 seconds) that has had its white balance corrected in Photoshop. Having a small aperture (f/9) has caused the nice star effect on the street lamp.
